Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. (X Train), the company building a luxury passenger train with planned rail service between Southern California and Las Vegas, Nev., selected R&O Construction as the general contractor for the X Train's Las Vegas Station. R&O Construction is a national general contractor firm.

“Our goal in selecting our general contractor was to make sure that the company we chose has both the necessary capabilities and an outstanding reputation within our community. In addition to these qualities, R&O has a long term commitment to green building practices and safety that really impresses us,” said Mike Barron, president/CEO of the Las Vegas Railway Express.

R&O Construction’s responsibilities for the X Train’s Las Vegas Station include: assembling a project team, choosing subcontractors, evaluating design for budget and time considerations, providing cost estimates, meetings with subcontractors, creating itemized schedules, monitoring daily subcontractor performance and transitioning from construction to occupancy.

“It is going to be such a great asset for both the city of Las Vegas and the residents of California to be able to ease the congestion in both our two great states,” says Chet Opheikens, business development and principle of R&O Construction. “It is going to be an economic boom.”
