The Florida Department of Transportation is scheduled to receive nearly 13 miles of rail beginning Monday, July 30 through Wednesday, August 1 for commuter SunRail trains to run on.

Rail will be dropped off at 11 separate locations between Sanford and Jamaica Lane—south of downtown Orlando. This is the third delivery of continuous weld rail. Each rail section is 1,650 feet long and weighs 31 tons.

The rail, for adding a second track, is from Columbia City, Ind. Rails are being stockpiled alongside the existing tracks between rail crossings.
