CRETE, Ill. – Holland has announced it has added a Hybrid Welder to its portfolio of mobile welding services.
In a press release, the company explained the new Hybrid Welder features the same technology as the MobileWelder, with a battery-operated welder head. The company says that this design “eliminates mechanical systems that are known failure points,” and that this new option is beneficial as it includes “decreased fuel usage and emissions generation, reduced noise to improve the safety of operators and the surrounding environment, and compliance with future emission requirements associated with traditional generators.”
Holland’s Executive Vice President of Business Operations Russ Gehl calls it a “step in the right direction towards a more sustainable future for rail welding. As railroads continue to champion green initiatives, we continue to invest in developing technology that supports our customer partners.” Additionally, Gehl remarked that the Hybrid Welder is a step towards developing smaller and lighter flash-butt welding systems. Gehl went on to say that “Holland is looking forward to our fleet of the future and providing more of these welders across the globe.”
