ALBERTVILLE, Ala. - Progress Rail announced a collaboration with Railmonitor to bring together its sensor-based monitoring and analytics platform with Progress Rail's global infrastructure portfolio.

The technology from Railmonitor works to monitor switches, track, and structures in real-time by utilizing distributed sensors that are connected to a cloud-based digital platform. That data is then converted into asset condition insights, alerts, and indicators that can help identify infrastructure degradation early. Progress Rail indicates this is a preventive measure as opposed to a reactive one, thus reducing service downtime if a failure were to occur. The collaboration enables Progress Rail to offer this technology to its customers.

Progress Rail executive vice president of infrastructure Sam Doerr said, “Customers are increasingly looking for smarter, more proactive ways to manage rail infrastructure. . . By combining Railmonitor’s digital monitoring with our track expertise and service capabilities, we are applying advanced technology to help customers solve their toughest challenges and make better, data-driven maintenance decisions.”

Railmonitor CEO Niels Juul said, “We are stepping into a phase where speed and focus matter. . . This relationship with Progress Rail gives us direct access to key markets and customers, and it confirms the relevance of our technology. Our priority is clear: accelerate deployment, continue to innovate, and ensure our solutions create tangible value for railway operators globally.”
