UP Finishes Track Renewal Project in Less Than 24 Hours

DORRIS, Calif. - Union Pacific teams finished a track renewal project in less than 24 hours in Dorris, California.

On LinkedIn, the Class I announced its crews finished a track renewal project on its Black Butte Subdivision. Inside of a tunnel, UP employees removed and installed more than 1,300 track feet. Additionally, they “cut and installed track panels, laid fresh rock with a ballast train and surfaced the track, ensuring a smooth ride for freight traffic.”

Director-Track Maintenance, Engineering Jake Allen said, “This team performed with skill and expertise, using the foundation of safety to ensure we provide the service we promised our customers.”
