WUHAN, China - Pandrol China signed an agreement to expand its reach and 'technological influence' in the Chinese rail industry.
According to Pandrol China, the agreement is between Pandrol China and the Metal & Chemistry Research Institute (MCRI) of the China Academy of Railway Sciences (CARS), and it outlines an approach to “promoting Pandora’s aluminothermic welding solution i+weld and supporting China Railway’s Auto-ATW (automated thermal welding) requirements.” Recently, leaders from Pandrol China and MCRI attended the 2025 Beijing Modern Railway event, where Pandrol China showed its PLA-EVO welding system, also known as QPS. Additionally, Pandrol China presented the Fastclip, SFC base plates, VIPA and Vanguard Track Fastening Systems, and the SD thread rail fastening system.
Pandrol Head of Engineering ATW/EQC Nicolas Demond said, “This is a really important agreement for Pandrol China and we are looking forward to building important new business relationships within the Chinese railway sector. Innovations like our i+weld solution are just right for the Chinese market and with the technical support and training from our experienced team means rail welds can be completed more quickly and at a higher standard, whilst addressing skills shortages.”
