Donald Del Nero Joins STV as VP & Tunnel Engineering Director

NEW YORK CITY - Donald Del Nero II, PE, CDT, has joined STV as vice president and tunnel engineering director.

Donald Del Nero II holds more than forty years of experience in transportation and water infrastructure delivery through design-build, construction manager at-risk and other alternative delivery models. Throughout his career, he has gained knowledge in risk management, tunnel boring technologies and contract strategy, underground design and construction, and helping navigate subsurface conditions with better certainty. In this role, Del Nero will work to strengthen the firm’s “national tunneling capabilities as demand grows for more complex, resilient underground infrastructure programs nationwide,” according to the release.

Before joining STV, Del Nero has previously worked in senior leadership roles at other global engineering and consulting firms. His work has lent him to be recognized for “advancing risk-informed delivery approaches and integrating geotechnical strategy into major infrastructure programs.” Del Nero holds a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Clarkson University. He is also a PhD candidate at the Colorado School of Mines. Along with having authored more than 50 technical publications, Del Nero is a licensed professional engineer in multiple states and has received the 2025 Microtunneling Achievement Award for Excellence in Engineering.
