Michael Baker Intl Announces Executive Leadership Appointments

PITTSBURGH - Michael Baker International announced several executive leadership appointments, including Chris Peters, PE, SE as Chief Executive Officer.

Effective immediately, Chris Peters has been appointed CEO after joining Michael Baker International in November 2025 as Chief Operating Officer. Brian A. Lutes was previously CEO since 2017. Peters brings with him more than three decades of experience in the architectural, engineering and consulting industry, according to Michael Baker International. Previously, he served as COO at WSP USA. In his new role, Peters will work to advance the company’s strategy to meet evolving client needs and strengthen its focus on Technology, Differentiation, and Innovation (TDI).

Campbell, Chairman of Michael Baker International. “We are building a technology-driven engineering and consulting firm – strengthening our market focus, scaling our capabilities and delivering differentiating value to our clients.”

In addition, Michael Baker International announced Kevin Reed, PE has been appointed COO, Daniel A. Craig as President, and Alex Vickers as Chief Strategy Officer.

In his role as COO, Reed will work to lead firmware operations across four lines of business at the firm: Infrastructure, Integrated Design and Advisory (IDA), Mitigation, Environmental, Resiliency, Response and Recovery (MER3), and GovTech. Additionally, Reed will focus on advancing enterprise systems, strengthening collaboration, and developing technical and operational excellence. He previously joined the firm last year.

In his role as President, Craig will work on Michael Baker International’s growth in various markets, client partnerships, and technology-driven initiatives, says the firm. Previously, he served as CEO of Tidal Basin Group and holds experience in government services and emergency management.

Vickers will step into the role of Chief Strategy Officer where he will lead the firm’s strategic planning framework and refine market focus. Additionally, he will guide the translation of the firm’s vision into “decisive priorities, investments, and actions that drive long-term value creation for its clients.” Previously, Vickers served as a Project Leader in Boston Consulting Group’s Travel, Cities & Infrastructure practice.
