Urban Engineers Taps William Brooks for SVP, Director of Strategic Operations

PHILADELPHIA - William Brooks, PE, joins Urban Engineers as Senior Vice President, Director of Strategic Operations.
In this role on the Executive Team, Brooks will work with Business Unit Directors and Department Managers to oversee the strategic operations at Urban and work to enhance efficiency to strengthen the firm. Brooks brings with him almost forty years of experience in executive leadership.
Previously, Brooks worked as Senior Vice President of Capital Delivery at NJ Transit. In this role, he led “complex and impactful” transit capital programs and directed a large, multifunctional department for the agency’s five-year capital program. From 1998 to 2010, Brooks served as Director of Engineering and Chief Engineer for the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA). It was in that role where he led the development and implementation of its capital improvement program across all of its core facilities. Additionally, Brooks spent close to fifteen years at AECOM and STV.
Brooks is a licensed Professional Engineer in both Pennsylvania and Delaware. According to Urban, he is the Past President of the Southern New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Brooks is also the Chair of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Business Practices Committee for the ACEC.
