Atlanta Mayor Dickens Signs Administrative Order No. 2024-01

ATLANTA – After announcing plans for four stations near the Beltline, Mayor Dickens signed an administrative order on April 11th that identifies four locations for said stations.

On March 25th, RT&S reported that along with three new infill stations, there will be a new MARTA station at Murphy Crossing to connect MARTA to the Beltline for the first time. 

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens announced the locations of the four new MARTA rail stations. On April 11th, Mayor Dickens signed Administrative Order No. 2024-01 that identifies “four areas wherein there shall be infill Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) station investment.” Officials have been asked to begin designs for stations near “Joseph E. Boone Boulevard, Krog Street near Hulsey Yard, Armour Yards, and Murphy Crossing along the Beltline Westside Trail.” The administrative order can be read in its entirety below:

According to Axios, Mayor Dickens asked staffers to identify funding resources for constructing the four stops. He ordered City Hall, Beltline, and MARTA staffers to “begin developing a plan for transit options on the entirety of the Beltline corridor.”
