Caltrain to announce long term service vision

Caltrain announced Friday that it will announce a long term service vision, called 2040 Service Vision, during a YouTube Town Hall today (Monday, July 22) from noon-2 p.m PDT.  The announcement can be viewed on Caltrain’s YouTube page.

Caltrain reports that the past year has been spent developing the Caltrain Business Plan in order to meet the transportation needs of the region by 2040.  Today’s YouTube presentation is a draft recommendation, which is an important milestone on the road to finalizing the business plan.  Caltrain expects the entire business plan to be finished in early 2020.

Today’s presentation will include:

• An evaluation of options for increased service
• Identification of infrastructure and corresponding investments needed to support that service
• An analysis of the economic and regional benefits that different service options provide
• A review of organizational concepts to equip the agency to deliver the overall vision
