BNSF Shares Bridge Construction Update; Expected Completion in 2026

BISMARCK, N.D. - BNSF gives an update on the construction of the bridge that crosses over the Missouri River.

On LinkedIn, the Class I states progress on the bridge construction is “well underway,” and that it expects the bridge to be completed in 2026. At that time, the new bridge will be able to support heavier loads and allow for more service. Below are recent photos from work on Pier 9.

RT&S has reported on the ongoing work on the Bismarck-Mandan Rail Bridge. For the last couple of months, BNSF’s photos show the “initial placement of stem forms, internal reinforcement set in place for remaining stem forms, crews placing concrete, and finally, the completed stem with forms removed.”
