MARTA Replacing Track Near Atlanta International Airport Next Week

ATLANTA – MARTA will replace track near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport starting Wednesday, October 4th.

Fox 5 Atlanta reported this morning that MARTA will replace track near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport starting Wednesday, October 4^th. Track work will start at 7:30 p.m. that day and run through October 6^th, October 11^th-13^th, October 27^th, and November 3^rd.

For those passengers on the Red and Gold Lines, they may see delays and should allocate an additional 10 to 15 minutes for their travel time. The report goes on to say that those who are “traveling from the Airport to Buckhead, Medical Center, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, or the North Springs station will need to transfer to the Red Line at the Lindbergh Center Station.”

This work comes as part of a multi-year effort to “replace tracks and switches across the system.”
