SYSTRA has promoted Joseph Sais, PE, to executive vice president, engineering. In this capacity, Sais will oversee the firm's U.S.-based infrastructure, traction power, systems, and construction management and program management sectors.
Sais has more than 40 years of senior level managerial experience in transit and railroad operations, maintenance and engineering. Prior to joining SYSTRA, he was an employee of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) for more than 33 years. During the course of his tenure at LIRR, Sais was responsible for all aspects of track and structures departments, including planning, design, construction and maintenance.
As SYSTRA’s national construction and program management practice lead, Sais provided oversight on projects including Metropolitan Transportation Authority Capital Construction’s East Side Access program, Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Danbury Branch Signalization and Port Authority of New York & New Jersey’s Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corp. Railroad Capital Program.
