Racine Railroad Products Announces Dominic DaPra Will Assume Leadership Role

Mt. Pleasant, Wis.–Racine Railroad Products President Steve Birkholz retired March 7, 2023 following more than 29 years of service to the company, serving as the President for more than 28 years. Dominic DaPra, previously Vice President at Generac Power Systems, succeed Birkholz as President. DaPra started with Racine Railroad on Dec. 5, 2022, to allow for an extended transition period.

Dom has significant experience in sales and marketing as well as responsibilities that spanned operations, finance, and analytics and spent a portion of his career in Europe. Dom is also from Racine, he understands the RRP culture and has meshed with our team members and is focusing on continuing to develop RRP for years to come. Birkholz joined Racine Railroad in 1994 as VP of Sales but was quickly appointed to the President role several months later. He was able to quickly address sales opportunities, as well as lead the efforts to redefine the company’s product offerings which kept

Birkholz and the company connected to customers for the last couple of decades. Birkholz also served on the REMSA board, AREMA Conference Operating Committee, and participated in the NRC, AREMA and ASLRRA associations. Birkholz volunteered his time to promote the rail industry at UW – Whitewater Business School’s Logistics class students for several years.
