The June 2023 issue of Railway Track & Structures features our Top Project honorees. We selected nine projects based on their excellence and atypical project goals.

The June issue also features a piece by MxV Rail Principal Investigator Stephen Wilk on Ballast Compaction with Dynamic Track Stabilizers.

  • There is also a feature on how Class Is deal with extreme weather, including an interview with Dwayne Gibson of Norfolk Southern on how his railroad prepares, endures, and cleans up after a major storm, which could be heavy rain, tornadoes, hurricanes, and extreme snow and ice events on the system’s northern and midwestern lines.
  • We have a special Vendor/Product Spotlight on those who prepare and install grade crossing surface materials that help protect the railroad as well as providing a smooth ride for those inroad vehicles traveling over the crossing. We also look at Anti-Trespass solutions.
  • Bob Tuzik has prepared a great article on the body of knowledge created by decades of derailment investigations, based on a presentation made at Wheel/Rail Seminars’ 2022 Wheel/Rail Interaction conference.
  • This issue also features our regular monthly columns.
