The project includes replacing more than 12 miles of rail and renewing the surfaces at 12 road crossings. In addition, crews will be replacing 60,700 concrete ties.
In other UP news, the railroad received the 2011 General Motors Supplier of the Year award for Rail Services. This award recognizes the significant contributions of GM's suppliers in 2011 as part of the company's global product and performance achievements.
