UP to spend $9.2 million on Arizona infrastructure improvements
Written by jroodUnion Pacific is enhancing Arizona's transportation infrastructure by investing $9.2 million in the rail line that runs between Crag and downtown Phoenix. The project is in progress and is scheduled to be completed by the end of April.
The 48-mile project includes replacing nearly 65,000 railroad ties and installing more than 19,000 tons of ballast to help provide a more stable roadbed. In addition, crews will be renewing the surfaces at 55 road crossings.
