RT&S Virtual Conference –– Crossties & Fasteners –– April 10, 2025 –– Conference Preview #1
Written by David C. Lester, Editor-in-Chief
ATLANTA –– As we reported last week, our Virtual Conference focused on Crossties & Fasteners will be held on Thursday, April 10 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
You can read last week’s report here.
One of our presenters will be Chad Henderson, Assistant Director of Roadway Planning (Ties) at BNSF. Chad spends a lot of time at various places on the BNSF system and will bring significant field experience to our discussion. His main areas of focus will be tie management and maintenance on the Southern transcon, one of BNSF’s busiest lines, which hosts long trains running at high speed.
Chad will also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of concrete vs. wood ties, then discuss the different types of fasteners used on BNSF. There are few individuals who bring such extensive field experience to their training and presentations and we look forward to Chad being with us. As always, once his presentation has concluded, he’ll be ready to take questions from the viewers.
Stay tuned for another conference preview later this month.
