SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Amtrak completed some station and platform improvements at Saratoga Springs Station.

Demolition and track work have started at the station, which sees the Adirondack and Ethan Allen Express daily. The project at Saratoga Springs Station include a 600-foot-long level boarding platform. This platform will also have a snow melt system. Other upgrades include LED lighting at the platform, yellow-painted safety detectable warning system along its edge, new signage, and a new microphone and speaker system for the ticket counter. This project is a $12.5 million investment from the FRA, according to the release. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2027.

These upgrades are part of a larger effort by Amtrak “to improve travel for families” and ensure a better travel experience for its customers. Previously, 19 stations were brought up to ADA compliance by the end of FY2025. 60 more stations are expected to be completed by the end of FY2026 at a cost of $311 million.

Amtrak Vice President, Chief Accessibility Officer Dr. David Handera said, “The upgrades to Saratoga Springs Station remain on track and are just a few stops away for our customers to start experiencing. . . These improvements support Amtrak’s goals to enhance the customer experience, make travel for families easier, and bring greater integrated and comprehensive accessibility to our stations all across the country.”
