ENTERPRISE, Alberta – Crews have completed repairs to CN track after a fire damaged the line in August of this year.

Cabin Radio has reported that crews have completed repairs to CN track after a fire damaged the line in August of this year. The line is a “key transportation link for the delivery of fuel and other goods.”

CN stated: “More than 18,000 rail ties [were used to] repair areas damaged by the wildfires. . . All of this work was made possible by the careful coordination of remote work crews and the timely delivery of track materials. CN would like to thank the local community whose support, including accommodations, extended grocery hours, and meals was instrumental in achieving this milestone.”

A temporary transload facility was also set up in which “truckloads of cargo are transferred to rail cars for longer-distance travel.” As of reporting, there is no update on the line between Enterprise and Hay River.
