The Port of Houston announced today that it is closing the Bayport and Barbours Cut terminals because an employee who works at both terminals has tested positive for coronavirus.

The Port of Houston Authority released a statement last night that said “The Port Authority has learned that someone who worked at both Barbours Cut and Bayport container terminals tested positive for COVID-19. In an abundance of caution, both public terminals are closed and operations are temporarily suspended while a thorough investigation is being conducted.”
