Watco Transportation Services has appointed Jeffrey Buck to general manager for the Mississippi Southern and Vicksburg Southern railroads. Buck will be responsible for the daily operations of both railroads; specifically focusing on improving safety, productivity, efficiency and developing team members.

Jeffrey began his railroad career after high school in 1987 in Tennessee on the Walking Horse and Eastern Railroad as an engineer. He then worked as an engineer for the Nashville and Ashland City Railroad, the Sequatchie Valley Railroad and the Georgia Northeastern Railroad.

In 1999/2001 he was hired on as a card holding engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad in Cincinnati, Ohio, on the Central Division and then went back to the Georgia Northeastern Railroad in Marietta, Ga., where he assumed the title of engineer/DSLE/dispatcher, managed four crews and worked closely with customers on a daily basis.
