Watco Transportation Services names top management to WSOR

Watco Transportation Services named Steve Beske general manager of the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad. Beske will be responsible for the day-to-day operations on the WSOR and will report directly to the director of operations.

His duties will be to achieve performance goals with optimum safety, economy, efficiency and effectiveness along with overseeing customer relationships in accordance with the Customer First Foundation Principles.

Beske began his career in the rail industry in 1994 as a conductor for the Wisconsin Central Railroad and was named yardmaster in 1995. In 1998 he was named trainmaster for the WC, which was acquired by Canadian National. In 2003 he became an assistant superintendent for the CN and in 2005 superinten¬dent of transportation for WSOR.

Watco also named James Fuchs as assistant general manager of the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad. Fuchs will assist the general manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations on the WSOR.

Fuchs comes to the WSOR with 15 years of experience working for Canadian National. He most recently served as assistant superintendent of the Stevens Point, Wisc., area.
