Coronavirus impacts Union Pacific and Canadian Pacific headquarters

Two Canadian Pacific employees at the railroad’s Calgary headquarters have tested positive for coronavirus, while Union Pacific has 2000 Omaha headquarters working from home
The headquarters offices of both Union Pacific and Canadian Pacific have been impacted by the coronavirus, but in different ways.
Canadian Pacific says that two employees at their headquarters in Calgary have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to a CBC report. While the two cases don’t appear to be related, CP has asked those who worked closely with the two people to stay home until medical officials approve their return.
Salem Woodrow, a CP spokesperson said “CP will continue to follow best practices to protect the safety and well-being of our employees. CP took immediate action to thoroughly clean the areas the two employees frequented.”
At their Omaha headquarters, according to the Omaha World-Herald, Union Pacific’s executive vice president and chief human resources officer, Beth Whited, said the railroad has directed 2,000 employees to work from home, leaving only 500 employees at the office, and those have to maintain six feet of social distancing. In addition, the office is closed to the public, effective today. On-site meetings will be held to ten people or less, and employees will communicate via teleconference as much as possible. To the best of RT&S’s knowledge, no cases of coronavirus have been reported at Union Pacific’s headquarters.
