Galloway to lead transit and rail planning at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff
Written by Kyra Senese, Managing EditorWSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff (WSP) has appointed Drew Galloway as vice president, transit and rail planning.
Galloway has been on board with WSP since Oct. 3, according to WSP Senior Vice President and Communications Director Jayanti Menches.
He works out of the global engineering and professional services firm’s Newark office and now oversees major projects involving rail systems, railroads and transit agencies.
WSP says Galloway will be accountable for managing the planning and engineering services for various transit and rail projects. Galloway is expected to act as a leader, technical resource and project manager for the firm’s transit and rail planning initiatives underway nationwide.
Galloway has more than three decades of experience working through all phases of rail analysis, planning and operations, including involvement with capital programs, master plans, service development plans and terminal plans.
He has previously served as deputy chief of planning for Amtrak, where he worked for 19 years. Throughout Galloway’s time at Amtrak, he managed several activities, such as rail corridor planning, station and terminal development and negotiating railroad operating agreements.
Before joining Amtrak, he worked for NJ Transit as director of rail service planning and major projects, officials say.
Galloway is an alumnus of Niagara University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in transportation law and economics. He is a member of the American Planning Association, the Transportation Research Board and other industry organizations.
