Gannett Fleming, a global infrastructure and engineering firm, has recently expanded its presence in North Carolina, opening a new office in Asheville, N.C.

Bob Scaer, PE, Gannett Fleming chairman and CEO, said the new office is the company’s third location in the state, calling the milestone “the latest benchmark in Gannett Fleming’s more than 50 years of engineering excellence in North Carolina.”

“Our team in Asheville will continue our unparalleled level of service to valued clients like North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and will serve as a strategic location for recruiting the best talent,” Scaer said.

Gannett Fleming noted its recent accomplishments in North Carolina include its selection to work on the design of 11 bridge replacements in Buncombe and Madison counties and a general engineering contract with the city of Morganton in Burke County.

The new Asheville, N.C., office is located along Schenck Parkway in Asheville, N.C.

“We have a great team of eight already in place in our Asheville office, headed by former NCDOT Division 13 Construction Engineer Rick Tipton, PE, PLS,” said Terry Snow, PE, Southeast Region director and senior vice president. “The team’s combined experience positions us well for success in the region, where we are already completing work to help the residents of Western North Carolina.”

The office offers bridge design and inspection, National Environmental Policy Act planning, transportation planning, land surveying, construction management and inspections, transit and rail design services and more, Gannett Fleming explained in a statement.

Last year, RT&S reported that Gannett Fleming had added Bryan Mulqueen, PE, to its Board of Directors.
