Metrolinx will soon have crews working on sewer and watermain installations, including relocations and upgrades, at the intersection of Hurontario and Dundas Streets in Mississauga in preparation for the Hazel McCallion Line's infrastructure construction.

The work is scheduled to take place from March 17 through March 20. The utilities are currently in the middle of the intersection, impeding the proposed LRT line. As a result, they must be shifted outside of its path, Metrolinx said.

During the weekend construction, there will be no service on Hurontario (between Hillcrest Avenue and King Street) and Dundas (between Confederation Parkway and Camilla Avenue).

A 13-foot-deep excavation will take place in the middle of the intersection during the closure. Pipe replacements and upgrades will be completed while the existing system is operational, utilizing a sewer bypass pump to avoid service interruptions.
