PORTLAND, Maine –– Jerry Angier, historian, author, and long-time member and officer of the R&LHS, has died.
Jerry was an insurance and financial planning professional, and a noted railroad historian and author. He was an authority on the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad, and wrote the volume of record on the history of that road.
For the R&LHS, Jerry served on the Board of Directors and was also chair of publications. He also wrote several articles for various rail enthusiast publications, and also served as a car host on Amtrak’s Downeaster train and was active in the preservation of narrow-gauge railroads.
Jerry is survived by his wife Nancy.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry’s memory be made to the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum or the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
