Transit Services general manager Renee Amilcar wrote in a memo that Michael Morgan will remain with OC Transpo until the fall “to ensure a smooth transition,” according to a report in CTVNews. In the memo, Amilcar writes that Michael “has built a strong, experienced team who will continue to progress the opening of O-Train Lines 2 and 4, as well as the completion of the east and west extensions of Line 1.” Now, the recruitment process for his replacement is underway.

Until a permanent replacement is found, Amilcar has asked Richard Holder, director of transit engineering, to take over as acting director of rail construction. Holder is familiar with the Stage 2 South project, an extension project that is currently two years behind schedule. The project seeks to extend Stage 2 service to Trim Road in the east, to Limebank Road in the south, and to Moodie Drive in the west. Additionally, the project includes a link to the Ottawa International Airport. Amilcar writes that Holder was “formerly manager of Systems and Operations Integration for the Rail Construction Program, and he is actively engaged in the commissioning process.”
