SAN FRANCISCO - STV celebrated the recent award recognition from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) San Francisco Section.
According to STV, the Windsor extension received the award for 2025 Outstanding Transportation Project by ASCE San Francisco at the ASCE San Francisco Section Awards Dinner. The award program “honors advances and innovations in transportation design and construction,” STV says.
The project included a 3.2-mile Windsor extension to expand service north into downtown Windsor and a new multimodal station. Additionally, crews worked on five rebuilt rail bridges, five upgraded grade crossings, two pedestrian bridges, and a pedestrian underpass. A 2.6-mile non-motorized pathway was also added to connect Windsor with the larger SMART network. In July 2025, the extension was opened for service.
STV provided design services on the project including rail, civil, and structural engineering as well as station architecture, bridge and roadway design, drainage and site systems, and the integration of ADA-accessible infrastructure.
