$25MM Awarded to North Berkeley BART Station

SAN FRANCISCO – BART was awarded $25 million from Cycle 7 Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program (TIRCP) for the North Berkeley Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Mobility Enhancements Project.

UP: New Intermodal Terminal Coming to Kansas City

OMAHA –– Construction is under way for a new Union Pacific (UP) intermodal terminal in Kansas City, Mo., which the Class I railroad said will serve both domestic and international containerized shipments of grains, consumer goods, refrigerated products, and pet foods. It is expected to open in mid-2025, adding capacity to UP’s current Kansas City operation.

BMWED Reaches Agreement With Norfolk Southern, But Not CSX

NOVI, Mich. –– The Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division-International Brotherhood of Teamsters (BMWED) announced this week that members have ratified an agreement with Norfolk Southern but have yet to ratify an agreement with CSX.

STB Approves Transaction That Creates New CPKC-CSX Class I Connection Linking Mexico, Texas and the U.S. Southeast

CALGARY, Alberta and JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Canadian Pacific Kansas City, CSX Corporation (CSX) and Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W) today said the Surface Transportation Board (STB) has approved CSX’s and CPKC’s respective applications regarding their acquisition of the rail lines operated by G&W’s Meridian & Bigbee Railroad, L.L.C. (MNBR), which will result in the creation of a new direct CPKC-CSX interchange connection in Alabama.
