ATLANTA – Railway Track and Structures Editorial Board Member Gary Wolf, president of Wolf Railway Consulting, will conduct a derailment investigation seminar in Atlanta on November 8-9.

In addition to being an RT&S Editorial Board member and president of Wolf Railway Consulting, Wolf is a 40+ year member of the International Association of Railway Operating Officers (IAROO) and was president of the organization in 2006.

He will present a two-day seminar on derailment investigation and prevention that is aimed at railroad operating officers in Transportation, Engineering, and Mechanical. The seminar will cover all phases of making a good investigation including what to do at the site, how to inspect the track structure (including turnouts), and how to assess mechanical conditions including wheels and trucks. Although the seminar is focused primarily on freight derailments, certain aspects of passenger/commuter equipment will be covered. A segment on Human Factor accidents, including yard incidents and train handling/train make-up, will also be included.

The seminar will be held at the Embassy Suites Atlanta Airport at 4700 Southport Road. For additional details, please visit Wolf’s website.
