Kenyatta Mitchell joins HNTB as Associate Vice President, Government Relations, in Atlanta

HNTB Corporation named Kenyatta Mitchell, an industry veteran with nearly 20 years of leadership in government affairs, as associate vice president, government relations, in the company’s Atlanta office. She will play a key role building partnerships that extend the company’s growth as a national leader in transportation infrastructure.

Throughout her career, Mitchell has helped build relationships and advance business strategies in support of her clients across transportation, construction and other industry sectors. In 2020 she was recognized by her peers as one of the top 20 lobbyists in Georgia by the National Black Professional Lobbyists Association. She currently serves on the board of numerous non-profit organizations, including Georgia Prospers, Keep Atlanta Beautiful, the Georgia Equality Board and Atlanta Business League.

Prior to joining HNTB, Mitchell served as principal for a government affairs consulting firm. She earned her bachelor’s degree in history and master’s degree in political science/international politics at Clark Atlanta University.

HNTB’s work in the region over the past five decades includes more than 30 major highway improvement projects for the Georgia Department of Transportation, with roles including program manager of both I-75 South Metro Express Lanes and Northwest Corridor Express Lanes projects, Atlanta Streetcar system, and many more. The firm provides general planning consultation for Georgia Regional Transportation Authority and State Road and Tollway Authority, and on-call transit planning and engineering for Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.
