Metrolinx Crews Complete Structural Work on Finch West Station

Metrolinx announced that the new Finch West Station was structurally complete as of Jan. 26.

A new structure has has been completed at the intersection of Finch Avenue West and Keele Street: the new LRT portion of Metrolinx’s Finch West Station.
After completing all steel and concrete work in late 2022, the team is now transforming the interior of the new station, Metrolinx said.
This includes the precision lifts of four 115-foot-long escalators. Masonry and utility installation work are also underway.
The mechanical systems that will support all station operations are currently being built, with HVAC, ventilation, electrical, and plumbing work taking place throughout the station, including on the station platform.
Mechanical work will continue into 2023, and tackling work such as tiling, glass, and wayfinding will soon begin. When the station is finished, more than 3,200 square feet of glass paneling will be installed, Metrolinx said.
