ATLANTA – The December digital edition of Railway Track and Structures is now on line.

A key feature this month is our annual State of the Industry Survey, where we look back on business in 2023 and look ahead to 2024. This survey is based the answers to 21 questions we ask of a broad section of companies in the rail and rail supply sectors, preceded by a quick review of news and economic factors that will likely affect business conditions in the coming year.

We also have a feature prepared by the Wheel/Rail Interaction team on a prominent Brazilian railroad, MRS Logistica. Jeff Tuzik’s story looks at how this railroad has brought innovation and optimization to its network in recent years, on track that was laid 140 years ago.

MxV Rail discusses Flange Bearing Frog Crossing Performance Issues and we have two Vendor Product Spotlights –– one on Friction Management and one on Safety Equipment.

We round out the issue with news and commentary around two recent Railway Age/Railway Track and Structures –– “Women In Rail” and “Light Rail 2023,” held in Chicago and Jersey City, respectively.
