NRC Appoints Two New Board Members

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) announced today two new appointments – Richard Carney with RailWorks Corporation and Bret Farmer, PE, with Granite Construction Inc. – to its Board of Directors. They join the 20-person Board, which is comprised of a railroad and rail-transit industry leaders representing a broad range of contractors and suppliers.

Both appointments are the result of resignations by previous board members. Richard Carney, who serves as Executive Vice President of Track Construction Services with RailWorks Corporation, has worked in railway construction for 35 years. He responsible for RailWorks’ track construction businesses across the United States and Canada. Carney’s term extends through the end of 2025.

Bret Farmer, Group Business Development Manager at Granite Construction, is a licensed professional engineer who has worked in the railroad construction industry for more than 30 years. He supports Granite Construction’s national railroad business unit. Farmer’s term extends through the end of 2027.
