NTSB Opens Public Docket for Feb 2024 CSX MoW Accident

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. - The National Transportation Safety Board has opened a public docket for its investigation into the February 13, 2024 fatality of a CSX Maintenance-of-Way employee who was struck by a ballast regulator.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), the NTSB Newsroom announced the opened docket contains “factual information only; analysis, probable cause & contributing factors will be determined at the conclusion of the investigation.”
There are 29 docket items that include a preliminary report, transcripts of interviews with CSX Machine Operators and Senior Managers, employee histories, operational test results, and various factual reports.
