Metrolink and the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), joined by regional passenger rail and freight operators, law enforcement agencies and Operation Lifesaver, issued a call to stop track tragedies Sept. 18 by
Metrolink’s Southern California Optimized Rail Expansion (SCORE) Program received what was described as the first down payment on the program from the California Transportation Commission (CTC).
The California State Transportation Agency awarded $51.9 million in State Rail Assistance program funding to seven recipients. The funds are made possible by the passage of state Senate Bill 1 (SB 1) last year.
