SPRINGFIELD, Va. – On October 6th, ENSCO has announced it was awarded a contract with Long Island Railroad (LIRR).

On October 6th, ENSCO has announced it was awarded a contract with Long Island Railroad (LIRR). ENSCO will design and deliver a state-of-the-art track inspection vehicle equipped with “multiple advanced systems that monitor track condition, showcasing ENSCO’s commitment to maintaining tracks in a state of good repair and proactive approach to rail safety.”

Jackie van der Westhuizen, Division Manager for ENSCO Rail, said: “By leveraging ENSCO’s expertise in rail inspection technology, LIRR showcases its dedication to providing a safe, reliable transportation network for its community.”

The investment allows “LIRR to reinforce its position at the forefront of the railway industry, prioritizing enhanced safety measures and efficient maintenance decision-making.” With continuous condition monitoring, potential issues can be addressed before they have a chance to escalate, thereby safeguarding both tracks and passengers daily.
