The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) today announced the hiring of Matthew Scanlon as Director of Construction.

In his new role, Scanlon will work under the direction of the HART Project Director to lead construction management efforts for the Honolulu Rail Transit Project. He will be responsible for construction management, schedule, budget, quality, and oversight of the construction management teams. This position ensures that work is delivered safely and in accordance with approved plans and specifications, while adhering to budget, schedule, and FTA requirements.

Scanlon is a licensed professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in capital program project management, construction management of complex rail systems, civil and systems design, regulatory agency coordination, permitting, safety certification, and rail integration testing. He was previously employed by HART from March 2012 to July 2015 as a Project Manager for the Kamehameha Highway Guideway. Scanlon is a licensed Professional Engineer, P.E., and holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Utah. He is a resident of Waikiki.
