nVent Electric plc, (nVent), a new corporation that recently separated from Pentair as an independent, publicly-traded company, serves railways worldwide and has now brought several well-known brands into the nVent railway system solutions portfolio.

Many nVent product brands have a legacy within the rail industry, the company noted, such as nVent ERICO, which was founded in 1903 as the Electric Railway Improvement Company (ERICO).

The nVent rail product portfolio now includes a variety of electrical solutions aimed at improving railway safety and reliability.

nVent ERICO operates as a supplier of cable-to-rail connection products (nVent ERICO Cadweld), and surge protection solutions. nVent ERIFLEX offers low-voltage power distribution solutions for trackside signal boxes and on-board (rolling stock) electrical panels.

Another brand, nVent HOFFMAN, provides enclosures and cooling solutions for electrical components with applications that include trackside signaling, and nVent SCHROFF offers electronic cabinets, sub-racks and cases for small form factor computers that are customized for railway signaling and communication applications.

nVent RAYCHEM supplies advanced heating cables with applications specifically designed for rail applications, including rail and switch heating systems, catenary heating systems, as well as heating systems for various on-board applications, nVent said.

nVent will hold an exhibit this year at Innotrans, the largest transportation technology trade fair held in Berlin, Germany, Sept. 18-21.
