Oliver promoted to vice president of automated track inspection at Mermec

West Columbia, SC July 8, 2021 – MERMEC Inc. (MMI) a wholly owned subsidiary MerMec S.p.A. both Angel Group companies is pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Kevin D. Oliver, PMP to the leadership role of Vice President Automated Track Inspection Program - ATIP.

In this critical executive role Mr. Elliott will be responsible to define and execute MERMEC Inc. strategic program and business initiatives applied to this very important safety program carried out under the direction of the Federal railroad Administration (FRA).

Mr. Kevin D. Oliver, PMP is a professional Program Manager employed by MERMEC Inc. since December 2020 in the role of Program Manager for the diagnostic applications and technologies associated to the Steel Sector a fast-growing market in the company’s portfolio. During his time with MERMEC Inc. Mr. Oliver was also leading the efforts of restructuring the technical training program in the company.

Mr. Oliver came to MERMEC following an accomplished career serving for 12 years in the US Army as a UH60 Pilot in Command and earlier as a Maintenance Supervisor.

During his military service Mr. Oliver was deployed in mission critical operations in various theaters and was the recipient of numerous recognitions and commendations to include the Presidential Unit Citation, The Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Army Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Mr. Oliver was honorably discharged from the US Army.

Subsequently to his discharge from the US Army, Mr. Oliver served as Project Manager and Director of Training with Insitu Inc., a technology company serving the US Department of Defense in training of critical mission personnel in the use and maintenance of unmanned vehicles and associated technologies.

Mr. Oliver holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Columbia College, SC; and a Master of Business Administration – Project Management from Purdue University. Mr. Oliver is a certified PMP from the Project Management Institute.

Mr. Oliver lives in Columbia, SC with his wife Stephanie and three children Meagan, Malakai, and Nathaniel.
