DENVER – RTD continues rail repairs on its E, H, and R lines. On the E and R lines, it has removed southbound speed restrictions between Orchard and Arapahoe at Village Center stations.

Additionally, RTD was able to remove speed restrictions from a section of track north of Nine Mile Station on the H and R lines. More speed restrictions are expected to be lifted as crews continue making track repairs. A full list of speed restrictions can be found at the link here.

Earlier this year, RTD began an inspection process of its light rail system in order to address and work on preventive maintenance issues. During the process, any areas that were noted as in need of repair, RTD implemented speed restrictions until crews could make said repairs. During these light rail inspections, RTD says this allows it “to ensure all rail assets are in a state of good repair and avoid long-term service disruptions and major infrastructure issues.” RTD adheres to “APTA standards for the periodic inspection and maintenance of fixed structure rail transit tracks.”
