HNTB names Mel Sears president of northwest division

HNTB’s Mel Sears, PE, PMP, has been named president of the firm’s Northwest Division, overseeing vital and complex infrastructure programs in growth markets, including highways, rail/transit, tolling and aviation. He is based in the firm’s Bellevue office.

NJ Transit receives fiscal year 2022 authorization to secure capital funding

The NJ Transit Board of Directors recently adopted the 2021 update to A Five-Year Capital Plan along with the Fiscal Year 2022 authorization to secure funding. A Five-Year Capital Plan is an unconstrained vision of projects to demonstrate opportunities for safety, service, reliability, resiliency, sustainability and other improvements critical to NJ Transit.

Darren Kettle named Metrolink chief executive officer

[Friday, July 23], the Board of Directors of the Southern California Regional Rail Authority named Darren Kettle chief executive officer (CEO) of Metrolink. Kettle is currently the executive director of the Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC), one of the five regional transportation agencies that comprise the joint powers authority that governs Metrolink.

Alberta, Canada, ready to jump into high-speed rail service

EllisDon, a construction services and infrastructure development company, announced that they have formed a partnership to advance the development of high-speed rail connecting Edmonton, Red Deer, and Calgary in Alberta, Canada.
