A Norfolk Southern intermodal train derailed in Bluefield, Va., Monday morning, and about 30 cars were involved.

Although no injuries were reported, a few cars were carrying hazardous materials, generating a response from hazmat teams, but no leaks were reported.

The Bluefield Daily Telegraph reports that the derailment took place adjacent to the town’s wastewater treatment plant on Monday morning. Connor Spielmaker, a media relations manager for Norfolk Southern, told the Telegraph that “A small number of those derailed cars were categorized as hazmat (majority of which were actually empty) but none of them spilled anything. Our hazmat crews are on-site simply as a matter of procedure. Otherwise, crews are currently on-site re-railing the train to get it moving again.”
