Oklahoma has been hit with heavy rains this week, causing washouts for Union Pacific.

Here is the railroad’s press release about the situation:

“Early [in the morning of May 5], torrential rains around Muskogee, Oklahoma, resulted in multiple washout locations on the network. Our engineering teams are working to restore service to areas where accessible, in some locations we are still waiting for the water to recede. While we have some limited reroutes available around the affected location, customers with traffic moving through the area can expect delays from 24-48 hours.

“We are also monitoring severe storms that may include hail, tornados, flash floods and high winds across Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana. In anticipation of impacts to our network, we have action plans to position resources to address any potential disruptions as quickly and safely as possible.

“If you have any questions, please contact Customer Care & Support at 800-272-8777 or your Union Pacific representative.”
