SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. – Freight service is allowed to resume service after a landslide took place in California.

Last week, RT&S reported on the San Clemente landslide that suspended freight and passenger rail service near the Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens after the landslide left debris on the rail track.

While passenger service is still suspended “indefinitely”, the San Clemente Times reported that according to a spokesperson from Metrolink, BNSF has been allowed to resume “at a restricted speed of 10 mph along with the requirement of receiving confirmation from on-site track personnel that it is clear to proceed.”

Passengers are asked to utilize bus service until passenger service can be allowed to resume.
