Minnesota’s Northstar commuter rail update

Revenue service testing for both the Hiawatha Light Rail Transit line extension and Northstar Commuter Rail will begin in mid-October. The trains will run on the regular schedule, but will not yet be available to the public. Northstar and LRT extension service will begin on Monday, Nov. 16.

In downtown
Minneapolis, LRT and Northstar system testing continued continues. Punchlist
work is ongoing at the Northstar and LRT stations.

In Fridley, Minn.,
all concrete pours for the site, including sidewalks on the west side, are
completed. Installation of station platform pavers continued will be completed
the week of Sept. 28. Installation of roof decking is complete. Painting of the
steel on the station platform and the east and west entrances continued this
week and is scheduled to continue next week after glass installation occurs.
Electrical work in the tunnel continues. As does work on the elevators. Paving
and striping of both the east and west parking lots is complete. Installation
of the irrigation system on the east and west sides has begun. Landscape
planting on the east and west sides continues.
