WASHINGTON, D.C. – The NRC 2024 Annual Railroad Equipment Auction has generated over $70,000 to go toward safety training resources and almost $1.2 million in sales.

The 20th annual event was held in two phases. First, an in-person event was held on May 2nd at Blackmon Auctions’ facility in Lonoke, Arkansas. Secondly, an online event was held through May 6th. Together, the auctions sold more than 300 items. The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association said the “proceeds will fund future NRC safety training videos, FRA 243 model templates, and other safety training resources for use by member companies.”

NRC President Ashley Wieland said, “Twenty years of successful auctions has translated into an investment of more than $1 million toward making railway construction safer. This milestone reflects a steadfast commitment by the NRC, its leadership, and its members to invest in working injury free.”

NRC Auction Committee Chairman Daniel Daugherty of RELAM thanked the event sponsors and said, “On behalf of the committee, I want to extend our sincerest appreciation to all the sellers and buyers and for the continued support and sponsorship from Progressive Railroading. Your commitment to our cause means a great deal to us. We’re grateful for your ongoing partnership as the auction sponsor. . . We appreciate the sponsors of or before-the-auction happy hour and minor league ballpark in Little Rock: Delta Railroad Services, MOW Equipment Solutions, and RELAM. We’re also grateful to the team at Blackmon Auctions – for hosting and administering a successful and professional equipment auction – and to all of the industry professionals who attended this worthwhile networking event. . . We have an incredible team that pools their professional talents for the good of our industry. Thank you to everyone involved.”
